Lakshmi Nivas Nalla is ambitious, driven, and passionate. He knows how to beat the odds and turn the winds in his direction. He has come a long way, starting from a small town in India to making a mark in the US. It takes perseverance, diligence, and a strong-willed determination with an eye on the goal to rise above difficulties and Lakshmi Nivas Nalla truly epitomizes its essence.
He took these hardships as mere impediments along the way and conquered them all to live the life he had envisioned for himself. Moving to the US was one of the most significant, impactful yet difficult decisions that he had to make. Mortgaging his ancestral home, utilizing all the lifetime savings of his brother and mother, to fund his move proved to be as fulfilling as demanding it was in the initial stage.
He was so insistent on moving to the US that he started his application process soon after he started with his undergraduate studies. He received his admittance papers and visa post completion of his college studies. Consequently, he ventured a step forward on his journey towards success as he started pursuing a master’s degree. Overwhelmed with the new country, new culture, new language, away from his family and friends, instead of succumbing to the pressures the situation entailed, reinvented himself and grew stronger.
During his time at the university, he grew a strong inclination towards the thriving field of artificial intelligence. While courses like Digital Logic Design, Embedded Systems, Computer Networks, and VLSI did interest him, what particularly grabbed his attention were courses essentially revolving around the field of artificial intelligence and Big Data like Computer Algorithms, Database Systems, Pattern Recognition.

Lakshmi entered the professional arena with a start-up company that was a search engine for mobile applications. He not only gained exposure and experiences dealing with large amounts of user data but was also able to utilize the skills he learnt as a Big Data Engineer.
There was no looking back for Nivas ever since. He knew he had found his calling in the field of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.
This software engineer has co-authored several articles on machine learning, the internet of things, and Artificial Intelligence that have been published in many prestigious journals. In one of his articles “The Impact of Big Data on Supply Chain Optimization in Ecommerce ,” Nivas speaks about the merits and demerits of AI and suggests how Trustworthy AI (TAI) can be effectively and judiciously used for the benefit of the society. In another article that he authored, “Comparative Analysis of Modern Database Technologies in Ecommerce Applications ,” he talks about the increasing demands of the human population, keeping into consideration the challenges faced by the agricultural sector, the traditional methods being deployed and how AI can help transform the agricultural landscape.
Nivas has rightly been using his knowledge in fields relevant to the needs of our generation. It is rightly said that we don’t mature with age, we mature with hardships and that time is the greatest teacher. Lessons that life taught him, the hardships that he faced, the scars that mark his journey, the challenges that he overcame have all transformed him drastically making him wiser, humble, and stronger. Knowing the importance and significance of the smallest of things has made him more appreciative of little things in life and there is nothing or no one whom he takes for granted.
Respecting and acknowledging the sacrifices that his family made to give this life to him, is a constant reminder and a source of his inspiration and optimism. Looking at the bright side is something that has become intrinsic to his personality.
